Introduction

I have been working at the Department of Applied Biotechnology and Food Science, Faculty of Chemical Technology and Biotechnology, Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) since 1994, and have held the position of Associate Professor since 2001. Between 2015 and 2023, I also served as Deputy Head of Department. Based on the BME online student evaluation (OHV) surveys, I have been included in the TOP 100 lecturers list on 16 occasions.
Over the course of my career, I have published 26 papers in peer-reviewed international journals, as well as 3 Hungarian-language publications and 3 book chapters. As principal investigator, I have successfully led three OTKA research grants and one Higher Education Research and Development Grant (FKFP). Between 2007 and 2024, I led the Cell Cycle and Genomics Research Group in our department. Currently, I am a member of the Genome Metabolism and Biostruct Research Group.
I have supervised approximately 30 BSc and MSc theses. As a supervisor of student research projects (TDK), my students have received 12 awards at the Faculty level and 2 national OTDK prizes. I have supervised three PhD students, two of whom successfully defended their dissertations at the György Oláh Doctoral School, BME VBK.
